FusionPro® VDP Suite 6.0, expands functionality for its industry-leading FusionPro Desktop product on both the Mac® and Windows® platforms, as well as the FusionPro Direct and Server composition engines.
The release provides fully integrated support for the FusionPro Desktop plug-in with both Adobe® Acrobat® 9 and InDesign® CS4, as well as powerful new JavaScript-enabled features. Highlights of these features include:
FusionPro Desktop 6.0 is fully compatible with Adobe Acrobat 9.0 Standard, Professional, and Professional Extended on both the Mac and Windows platforms.
With the addition of support for these latest Adobe applications, support for the oldest previously supported versions - Acrobat 6 and InDesign CS - has been dropped from the FusionPro Desktop 6.0 release.
As with other properties in FusionPro JavaScript rules system, the repeat count property can be assigned an integer value from any number of sources including the value of a Field in the input data, a calculated value, or a static value.
In addition to the new repeatRecordCount property, a number of additional properties are now available for use during jobs where this repeat-record functionality is used. These properties can be accessed in any JavaScript rule to create specific business logic or return select values to the composition process. In addition, these properties are also available as system variables that can be inserted in the Variable Text Editor using the "Variable" dropdown.
This powerful new capability encompasses over 50 individual properties accessible via JavaScript across 3 new elements:
Text Frames – Properties of the FusionPro text frame including size, position, rotation, fill/border color, content, vertical alignment, and frame suppression (visible/not-visible).
Graphic Frames – Properties of the FusionPro graphic frame including size, position, rotation, fill/border color, graphic resource/file for frame, vertical/horizontal alignment, scaling, clipping, and frame suppression (visible/not-visible).
Colors – Access to the colors specified in the FusionPro template.
For example, 3 different versions of a coupon which is to appear on the bottom of a larger piece can be created with each coupon having different text and graphic frames on them. Based on business logic in the template, one of these 3 coupons can be returned to the main piece with it's own variable information.
Each repeatable component can be returned to a given body page in the FusionPro template any number of times for a given record. This capability makes jobs with repetitive subsections, such as catalogs, much easier to design and maintain.
